Jono Coles is an *rchitect whose work critiques and repairs relationships between architectural practice and systems of value. He works between traditional architectural practice, art practice, teaching, writing, and alternative development.

Jono holds a Master of Architecture from UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, where he was awarded the Chester Miller Fellowship for his thesis Approaching Value, and the Branner and Stump Memorial Travel Fellowship for the project (Un)American Egress. He is the recipient of the Eisner Prize, the highest award for creativity given by UC Berkeley, in addition to the Design Excellence, Sooky Lee, James R. Boyce, Bassenian Englander Watson, and T.Y. Lin Awards.

Jono has practiced across the United States and Europe, most recently for First Office and Foster + Partners. His work has been published by Room1000, Log, Arkisnak, and the Guggenheim Foundation, and has been exhibited in Pittsburgh, Berkeley, and Los Angeles, where he is represented by Placeholder Gallery.
